Alt Eats is a one-of-a-kind cafe located in Ho Ho Kus, New Jersey. Our goals are twofold.

  1. We aim to present our guests with an eclectic blend of beverages and plates inspired by our founders’ time spent in destinations such as Cuba, St Barths, Paris, and Los Angeles.

  2. We hope to bridge the gap between the people of Bergen County and fresh, botanical, seasonal offerings. When our founder and his vegan partner moved from the Lower East Side of Manhattan to New Jersey, they were vastly disappointed with the vegan offerings in suburbia. They teamed up with natural vegetarian chefs and an array of master baristas in order to curate a delicious, seasonally-rotating menu of botanical bites and refreshing beverages, which we hope you will enjoy.

 In addition to being innovative, Alt Eats draws largely upon its roots. Our espresso is farmed, roasted, and imported by Eric Altomare (our founder)’s  family, from their own private reserves throughout South America. Our house coffee, a yirgacheffe, is also supplied by Eric’s family. This roast is imported from Ethiopia, which is considered the birthplace of coffee.
